What is the loudest stadium in the Premier League?

The Premier League has some brilliant fans. Home games are certainly a noisy affair, with fans screaming their sides on. One fanbase is just slightly louder than any other at home.

What is the loudest stadium in the Premier League? St James Park is currently seen as the loudest stadium in the Premier League, although this is a very difficult thing to properly calculate. Taking in a mixture of crowd size, crowd passion and stadium architecture.

At the moment I think that there is no doubt that St James Park is the loudest stadium in the Premier League for a few different reasons. Newcastle have always had a very big following and the fans have been supporting Newcastle throughout the team’s highs and lows. But they have had a lot more to shout about over recent months.

Since Newcastle were taken over, they have been one of the best English teams and are looking likely to be heading towards European football. Due to the team flying high, the supporters have been louder than ever, creating an incredible atmosphere at St James Park.

The Newcastle supporters endured terrible ownership for quite a while and they were relegated to the Championship not that long ago. Newcastle having a huge fan base means they were always a loud stadium, but with the team’s recent success, they have become the loudest stadium in the Premier League.

They do have quite a bit of competition for that title. Anfield and Old Trafford are two of the stadiums that some people say are the loudest in the Premier League. Many former players have spoken about Anfield being an incredibly difficult place to play in because of how loud it can get, particularly when the fans are singing You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Old Trafford is often looked at as the loudest stadium in the Premier League because it has the highest attendance of any Premier League team. The most fans does not necessarily mean the most noise and so Old Trafford is likely not the loudest stadium in the Premier League.

Which stadium is best in the Premier League?

The best stadium in the Premier League is a hotly contested competition, with a lot of different criteria for the best stadium in the Premier League.

In terms of the stadium with the best facilities, many people have been extremely complimentary of the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium which was only opened in April 2019. £1 billion was spent on the stadium and so It features some of the best facilities at a football stadium in the world.

There are extensive hospitality areas as well as a huge amount of modern technology. The stadium features the south stand which is influenced by the Yellow Wall of Borussia Dortmund. There are also a huge number of bars, restaurants and pre-match areas for fans. In terms of facilities, Tottenham Hotspur stadium is the best.

Some people will also look at history and atmosphere when considering what is the best stadium in the Premier League. Anfield has a huge amount of history and a great atmosphere. The stadium has been around for almost 140 years, being the home of Liverpool FC since 1892.

Due to that, the pitch is incredibly close to the stands. This tight design makes the atmosphere incredible as the fans are so close to the pitch. It can get incredibly loud at Anfield and so a lot of people will call Anfield the best stadium in the Premier League.

Quietest fans in Premier League

At the moment there are some loud fans in the Premier League, but at the other end of that, there are also some fans who are a bit harder to hear.

Bournemouth AFC tends to be one of the first teams people mention when talking about

the quietest fans in the league. A big part of that is because their home stadium is one of the quietest in the league. It isn’t really the fault of the fans in the ground, it is simply a result of Bournemouth having the smallest stadium in the league.

It doesn’t help that the atmosphere at Bournemouth is pretty quiet as well. Brentford are a great example of a small stadium that has a great atmosphere. They are able to create a brilliant atmosphere within the stadium and so have one of the louder fan bases in the league.

It also does not help that Bournemouth have not had a huge amount of success historically. This combined with their location means they have never grown a massive following and so do not have as big of a fan base as other teams in the Premier League.

Having the quietest fans in the Premier League doesn’t mean that a team like Bournemouth have a small fan base. The Premier League is one of the most followed leagues in the world and the top teams have fan bases made up of millions of people. There are still a lot of Bournemouth fans, but they are still quiet compared to the rest of the Premier League.

Loudest football fans in Championship

There are a few different teams who are contenders for the loudest football fans currently in the Championship.

Sunderland have to be considered considering they have the biggest stadium in the league. Sunderland’s successful history has meant that they have built up a large fan base who make their voices heard at home games. They are certainly one of the loudest fan bases in the Championship.

Middlesborough have a similarly large following who pack out the Riverside Stadium. Their prolonged spells in the top flight have built up a loud following who spur the team on at home games. This also makes the stadium a very loud place for opposing teams.

Sheffield United have a long history in football and their recent success has allowed the team to build an even bigger and louder following. Bramall Lane is not the easiest place to play in the Championship and that is partly due to the home fans. All of the teams listed also travel well and make their presence known on the road.
